Tatenhill Airfield is seeking to appoint Flight Instructors to support the continued growth of flying training on site.

 

This role sits at the heart of the airfield’s day-to-day activity — helping students take their first steps into aviation, supporting licence progression, and building confidence in the air. It is an opportunity to shape pilot journeys from the very beginning, while contributing to a vibrant and growing flying community.

 

Working within a busy and dynamic GA environment, Flight Instructors will play a key role in delivering high-quality training, maintaining strong standards, and creating a positive, professional and welcoming experience for all students.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality flight instruction in line with CAA standards and training syllabi
  • Support students through all stages of their training, from trial lessons to licence completion
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all operational procedures
  • Create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment for students
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure all documentation is kept up to date via FlightLogger
  • Work collaboratively with the wider airfield team to ensure a smooth and professional operation
  • Contribute to the growth of the training environment and overall student experience at Tatenhill

GENERAL MANAGER / ACCOUNTABLE MANAGER

Tatenhill Airfield is seeking to appoint a General Manager to lead the next phase of its development.

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE AND AVIONICS TECHNICIAN

Tatenhill Airfield is seeking to appoint an Aircraft Maintenance & Avionics Technician to support the next phase of its development.

 

This role will play a central part in maintaining and improving a diverse fleet of aircraft — ensuring they are safe, serviceable, and ready to fly, while supporting the continued growth of the airfield and its operations. It is an opportunity to work across a wide range of aircraft, contribute to meaningful engineering work, and be part of a team where your skills and ideas genuinely make a difference.

 

Working at the heart of a live and dynamic airfield, the Technician will bring technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach — helping to keep Tatenhill moving while contributing to a culture built on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs to the highest safety standards

  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, structural, and avionics faults efficiently to minimise downtime

  • Install, configure, test, and troubleshoot modern avionics systems (e.g. Garmin, Aspen, Avidyne)

  • Maintain accurate and compliant maintenance records and documentation

  • Contribute ideas to improve processes, workflow, tooling, and safety practices

  • Support wider airfield operations when required (e.g. refuelling, fire cover – training provided)

  • Work collaboratively with engineering, CAMO, and operations teams

  • Embrace the variety of General Aviation maintenance across multiple aircraft types

JUNIOR GENERAL AVIATION ENGINEER

Tatenhill Aviation is looking for a Junior General Aviation Engineer (Trainee) to join our maintenance team at Tatenhill Airfield.

 

This is a hands-on, entry-level opportunity to begin a career in aircraft engineering — working on real aircraft, in a live and dynamic airfield environment, alongside experienced engineers who will support your development from day one.

 

You’ll play an important role within the maintenance team, helping to keep aircraft safe, serviceable, and ready to fly, while building the skills and knowledge needed for a long-term career in aviation.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance team with servicing, inspections, and general upkeep of aircraft

  • Assist with diagnosing and rectifying faults under supervision

  • Learn and contribute to avionics installations and upgrades as your skills develop

  • Carry out hands-on tasks including cleaning, component removal/fitting, and testing

  • Maintain accurate records and support engineering documentation processes

  • Assist with wider airfield operations when required

  • Develop technical skills through structured training and day-to-day experience

  • Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
